Verizon Wireless, you’re on notice. When my contract is up, I’m leaving. I’m fed up with your customer service, contract stipulations and opt-out advertising programs. I’ve got about 13 months left until my contract is up and I’m counting down the days, LITERALLY!
Not that Verizon is that much more culpable for bad customer service than say Time Warner, whom I’ve also had to deal with recently. That’s not saying much to be sure. There is no reason that I should have to talk to 3 or 4 people EVERY time I call to get my questions answered. Add to that the fact that I have to divulge ALL of my account details the EACH of these people before they can even begin to HEAR my problem.
Furthermore, why would you let people fester with hatred for you for months on end after tricking them into extending their contract that they can’t get out of without paying exorbitant fees?! Have you never heard that word of mouth advertising is most efficient form of advertising? Surely this article and many more like it have already cost you more than whatever you hoped to gain by adopting these short-sighted policies.
Then there’s the recent opt-out advertising program I recently had to deal with. I don’t even care if it really was for internal purposes only. It’s total bullshit! I don’t give a flying fuck if it follows the letter of the fucking law. Thats not how you treat a customer. Being your customer makes me feel like I’m in an abusive relationship.
I’ve already decided that I’m getting into a pay as you go program because then I’m in control. If the service sucks, that OK. At the end of the month I can leave. That’s how it should be.
Thanks,
J.P.
Please leave your thoughts!
PS: In an effort to be fair, after doing some research for this post, I’ve found that Verizon Wireless has reversed their previous policies of extending contracts when you change something on your service and they have begun to prorate their termination fees. Kudos to them for taking some initiative. However it is my understanding that these policies are NOT retroactive so I still say “FUCK you Verizon!”

But what will you do without that crowd of people, trucks, and men swinging down from wires following you around?

I understand your frustration with cell phone companies in general, I happen to be a satisfied Verizon customer, having switched from the known to drop every call crappy company named cingular. T-mobile has service towers in maybe 3 towns across the country, and sprint, well, its sprint. I agree with your pay as you go as your only option have complete control, but EVERY service provider charges to cancel during your contract, and sometimes the pro-rated fee is actually more expensive than a flat rate.
Fuck em all. But I still give kudos to Verizon, perhaps I have a special place in my heart for them because I had a great experience working with the company.

I want to let anyone reading this to know about how verizon makes there money, first they lie to your face and tell you can have cell phone for like thirty bucks a month thats it no extra fees and it seems great then you get the bill thats gone from thirty bucks all the way to hundred so you call them to find out why and after getting bounced around for like an hour and talking to people that cant speak english you find out thats just the way it is sir but they lie and say it will be fixed and will not happen again,so then the next months bill comes in and big suprise its more than the first this time they say you went over your minutes so the bill that was sopposed to be thirty bucks and went to a hundred is now three hundred and if you dont have the full balance paid off they are going to rape you in fees and penalties, this is how they make there money by jacking your phone bill up so high that they end up getting thousands of dollars from people just trying to pay them off and stay away.I am writing because something needs to be done I no at least ten people that have been raped by verizon and I started thinking if they are making that much money off people I know they are making way more off everyone that falls for there scams so I just want to say DO NOT SIGN A CONTRACT WITH VERIZON WIRELESS THEY FUCKING SUCK ASS!!!!!!!

First of all I would just like to tell you how fucking stupid you are. I bet you didn’t even read the contract they gave you in the store . Or if you ordered online I bet you really where not paying that close of attention when you have to call an number that is 100% automated to except the terms and conditions. In that recording dumb ass they tell you that you are excepting the two year contract with your Electronic signature. If you break the contract it tells you that you will pay an early termination fee. So don’t sit there and bitch about them tricking you into signing or excepting the contract you should have done your research before you signed the contract instead of after. Also you can’t expect them to note every single thing you bitch about in your account other wise there would five fucking pages every time you called in. Oh and you know people make mistakes your not perfect so don’t act like you would even know what hell you where doing if you where in there spot. Because we already know that you are a little bitch posted from your blog above. (oh the world is me i didn’t read my contract because i am stupid so i should automatically be able to get disconnect with out a fee.) Oh and it is also a business a business stupid. If they where to disconnect lines with out a fee how in the hell would they make a profit. Do you really think they make a profit off of you 50.00 dollars a month for you 39.99 calling plan no. Do you also think that you pay full retail price for the phone no . you get that phone at a big discount. Verizon Wireless pays full retail price for the phones from the manufactures, and sells them to you the customer for a big discount. The way they make there money back from giving the phone to you at a discounted price is by having you pay your bill every month for two years to make up what they paid for that phone. And if you have not guessed where i am going with this then you really are stupid and don’t have any common sense what so ever. If you disconnect the service before your contract is up they charge you the early termination fee to make the money back and still since Verizon Wireless has the lowest early termination fee out of all the wireless carriers they still do not make there money back . Do you really think that they don’t spend billions of dollars each year to extend the network and make it better for us the customer. They also have the lowest early termination fee around because of us the customer Because Verizon Wireless understands shit happens and you can afford to pay your bills man. So suck it up grow the fuck up and stop being a little whiny bitch about things. I love Verizon service Yes i might not also get the best customer service all the time But where the fuck do you really get that anymore anyway.

FUCK VERIZON! Did you know that they charge megabyte usage for game DEMOS that are already downloaded on your phone when you get it? They don’t tell you this. You’d think maybe there’d be a little warning before you start the game like, “you’ll be charged airtime usage” or “you’ll be charged megabyte usage”. NOPE. Why do you have to pay for a freaking DEMO!!!??? So I say this again FUCK VERIZON and your shitty ass customer service! Oh yeah… and now they’re trying to tell me that I paid all of my bill except for $7.00… Who the hell pays everything but $7.00 of their bill? So now I’m being charged late fees for $7.00 when all I do is go online and click the little “pay now” button and the amount that’s due shows up and is taken from my bank account. Verizon… you can take your $7.00, rediculous late fees and $91.00 of megabytes you tricked me into using and shove it up your ass!

I HATE Verizon Wireless with a passion I’ve never known. They’re one of the most fee hungry businesses I’ve ever done business with and I hate them. Have an unlimited plan…you still pay for texts. Have a Data plan that allows you to surf the web and download things…they still charge for texts….have a data plan that allows you to email a pic all day long…send a pic msg…they want to charge you extra. You can’t fart with Verizon with out them having their hand out for $4.95 per month or something like that. Ever have one of their cust svc people try to explain your bull (I mean bill) to you? It’s the most convoluted bullshit I’ve ever tried to understand. Just doing business with those bastards makes my blood boil. I hate’em, I hate’em, I fuggen hate’em. Everything is a FEE!! And the corporate exec’s (I mean cocksuckers) behind the desks that make all this shit up…the fees and more fees and more fees, they’re laughing all the way to the bank (whilst driving their Aston Martin or some other over priced car that these FEES pay for). Kevin Truedau (did I spell that right?) said it best…if they need more money for the big execs to put in their pockets….create another fee, or make something that customers DON’T pay for now (if there is such a thing) something they have to pay for…the exec’s get richer and richer and richer and there is not a god damn thing we can do about it. They’re too big, too ballsy and it’s a good thing they have unlisted numbers and don’t publish themselves in the phone book. Bastard M-F’ers!!! I hate’em, I hate’em, I hate’em. Fuck You Verizon Wireless….fuck you.

I am so fed up with Verizon! They claimed that I took my dad off of unlimited when I went to get a new phone. Basically lied to get my dad off the unlimited plan we had with Alltel. Which we were very happy with Alltel by the way. We have a rediculous bill every month and have no clue how a bill can be $1000 + every month?! I’m relieved to see others are going through what we are..and sorry at the same time..ready to get out of our contracts..all 5!
9 JenV23 // Oct 20, 2009 at 10:21 pm
I should add I thought it was funny that when my blackberry broke and I didn’t have anymore insurance claims I switched to a diff. phone until I could get another Blackberry..can you believe I was charged just for switching from one phone to another?! I’ve NEVER dealt with that with Altell. Does anyone have any suggestions as to who I should switch to after I pay the bail out fees to get out of Verizons contract?? I just signed a 2 yr last month to get a new phone at a better price. I hear Sprint is great! Thinking about going with them but want to know who has the best rates and overall service. Thanks!

I used to be ok with verizon wireless until my husband and I had to leave the country for 3 years of overseas service. That was way before our family plan was supposed to expire, but despite the fact that we could not use it overseas, we were still willing to keep it for those rear ocasions when we are flying back to the states for a visit. Problems started when verizon wireless was not able to continue to send us a bill to APO address, although it costs regular postage stamp to send it, just like anywhere within the country. Their “computer system” does not recognize APO address. I tried to sign up for online billing, but it turned out to be too complicate, and the lady on the phone was incompetent and not very helpful. After few months I lost my patience and decided to break the contract. I asked the girl on the phone several times “Are we all square now?” and she said yes. Guess what…several months later I’m getting a letter from the collection agency saying I still owed to Verizon. When I started calling Verizon customer service, all I could get from them was that once the bill went to collections, it’s out of their hands and they don’t know anything. I was pissed!!! There’s no way i’m signing up with them again and I used to be their customer for many years!

And speaking about their billing… When we left oversears, we were not using our Verizon phones for months, but each month the bill was different. I was asking them “How come our bill is different every month if we are not using our phones at all?” Never got clear answer on that one.
