Verizon Wireless, you’re on notice. When my contract is up, I’m leaving. I’m fed up with your customer service, contract stipulations and opt-out advertising programs. I’ve got about 13 months left until my contract is up and I’m counting down the days, LITERALLY!
Not that Verizon is that much more culpable for bad customer service than say Time Warner, whom I’ve also had to deal with recently. That’s not saying much to be sure. There is no reason that I should have to talk to 3 or 4 people EVERY time I call to get my questions answered. Add to that the fact that I have to divulge ALL of my account details the EACH of these people before they can even begin to HEAR my problem.
Furthermore, why would you let people fester with hatred for you for months on end after tricking them into extending their contract that they can’t get out of without paying exorbitant fees?! Have you never heard that word of mouth advertising is most efficient form of advertising? Surely this article and many more like it have already cost you more than whatever you hoped to gain by adopting these short-sighted policies.
Then there’s the recent opt-out advertising program I recently had to deal with. I don’t even care if it really was for internal purposes only. It’s total bullshit! I don’t give a flying fuck if it follows the letter of the fucking law. Thats not how you treat a customer. Being your customer makes me feel like I’m in an abusive relationship.
I’ve already decided that I’m getting into a pay as you go program because then I’m in control. If the service sucks, that OK. At the end of the month I can leave. That’s how it should be.
Thanks,
J.P.
Please leave your thoughts!
PS: In an effort to be fair, after doing some research for this post, I’ve found that Verizon Wireless has reversed their previous policies of extending contracts when you change something on your service and they have begun to prorate their termination fees. Kudos to them for taking some initiative. However it is my understanding that these policies are NOT retroactive so I still say “FUCK you Verizon!”

But what will you do without that crowd of people, trucks, and men swinging down from wires following you around?

I understand your frustration with cell phone companies in general, I happen to be a satisfied Verizon customer, having switched from the known to drop every call crappy company named cingular. T-mobile has service towers in maybe 3 towns across the country, and sprint, well, its sprint. I agree with your pay as you go as your only option have complete control, but EVERY service provider charges to cancel during your contract, and sometimes the pro-rated fee is actually more expensive than a flat rate.
Fuck em all. But I still give kudos to Verizon, perhaps I have a special place in my heart for them because I had a great experience working with the company.

I want to let anyone reading this to know about how verizon makes there money, first they lie to your face and tell you can have cell phone for like thirty bucks a month thats it no extra fees and it seems great then you get the bill thats gone from thirty bucks all the way to hundred so you call them to find out why and after getting bounced around for like an hour and talking to people that cant speak english you find out thats just the way it is sir but they lie and say it will be fixed and will not happen again,so then the next months bill comes in and big suprise its more than the first this time they say you went over your minutes so the bill that was sopposed to be thirty bucks and went to a hundred is now three hundred and if you dont have the full balance paid off they are going to rape you in fees and penalties, this is how they make there money by jacking your phone bill up so high that they end up getting thousands of dollars from people just trying to pay them off and stay away.I am writing because something needs to be done I no at least ten people that have been raped by verizon and I started thinking if they are making that much money off people I know they are making way more off everyone that falls for there scams so I just want to say DO NOT SIGN A CONTRACT WITH VERIZON WIRELESS THEY FUCKING SUCK ASS!!!!!!!
