With holiday parties in full force, I have received a couple of questions on how to deal with the common party mishaps. Food, booze, and babes flourish as everyone dances the night away to their favorite holiday jingle, but what is a person to do the Monday
after their company party is over?

Dear Sasha,
My company had a killer holiday party this weekend, and man was it fun. Free drinks, free food, and a free ride home from a cute colleague created a night to
remember, that ended in a very friendly goodbye. We made out! It was awesome, but now I’m worried about seeing her on Monday. Any suggestions on how to keep
the situation cool? I don’t want this to cause tension at work.

Hi Jake,
Looks like you slithered your way into a touchy situation. But do not fret my pet, there are ways to make sure that this does not come back to bite you in the future.
The first thing you want to do is step up the respectgame. Do everything in your power to show this girl that you are not judging her based on the weekend’s events. (Even if in your mind you feel a different way… which I hope you don’t, but hey, ya never know) It is important that she doesn’t feel that you have lost respect for her; this will cause more tension than anything else. A woman who feels disrespected is sure to lash out, and you do not want this to happen, especially at work. If you did something completely unforgivable the night before, do your best to apologize for your bad behavior. Do not blame it on the liquor, regardless of how much you drank. There is nothing more obnoxious than someone not knowing their limits, AND not being man (or woman) enough to take responsibility for their actions. No excuses, just apologize. If everything went well, and you like the person, ask them to join you for a holiday party re-do. Invite them out to dinner, or just drinks if you are not ready for a full night of sober conversation. See where it goes, and enjoy yourself!
