Dear Sasha,

I was totally vibing this guy at a bar the other night. We ended up going out a few nights ago and had a wonderful night. At the end of the evening, I started to get nervous, and while he was saying goodbye, I cut him off and said some things that made it seem like I’m not that into him. But I am! I don’t know what to do now, I’m afraid he wont call. Any Ideas?

Hey Nancy!

This situation doesn’t sound all that bad. You vibed with the guy, you met him on another night for some drinks, and you like him! Sounds like a great night to me. I understand your frustration however, as the end of the night always brings extra anxiety, and we have all been in your position before.

The good news is that you have not ruined all chances of seeing him again, I can guarantee that. Although you threw a loop at the end of the evening with your nonchalant goodbye, if you showed him interest the entire night, then you still have an in for another date.

I suggest you give him a call tonight, and thank him for a great evening. Let him know that you had a wonderful time, and that you would like to see him again sometime. Don’t let your ego get in the way! Just because you got nervous for a moment, does not mean you should give up on a second date. I bet he didn’t even notice that you kind of shrugged him off towards the end. So pick up that phone and call!

If he did feel that you were being distant during your goodbye, then your phone call will come as a surprise to him. This is not a bad thing; everyone loves to get that unexpected call from someone they got along with on a date.
